AITA has developed a range of UAV’s to meet the demands of Fire Management, Emergency Response, Security, Asset Protection, Agriculture, Mining, Oil and Gas, Utilities, Science, Carbon and other specialized applications.

8 years of design, development, flying and testing of prototypes has culminated in the development of a range of extreme UAVs delivering unparalleled performance and economy enabling a paradigm shift in safety, economy, availability, efficiency and especially capability in all areas of service.

Never before has the combination of price, speed, range, payload, stealth and, of course, safety been offered in a UAV for these applications. All while being able to gather and provide real time data and images to ground management teams or for data collection, storage and later analysis.

AITA offers these UAV’s in packages designed to suit our various client circumstances. The UAV’s can be purchased outright complete with ground station control rooms and AITA can then be engaged to operate the UAV’s alongside the client’s team, or AITA can be engaged under a “wet lease programme” including the UAV’s, ground stations, pilots and ground maintenance crews or any other combination to suit the circumstances.

AITA will develop bespoke solutions in order to meet the specific requirements of the operation to meet and exceed expectations.

Compliance and Certification

AITA UAV’s and flight crews will all operate under relevant civil aviation authority certification and operating requirements.

AITA Services which are undertaken on a “Wet Hire” basis means we take responsibility for all operational aspects and regulatory requirements and compliance associated with the specific service.

AITA flight crews will have relevant professional credentials at a level analogous with commercial flight crews, however they operate from the complete safety of ground station control rooms located in the theatre of operation. Each crew is able to liaise with client personnel and respond to requests as if the client was in the cockpit because they actually can be.

Compliance with CASA, CCAA, FAA and other civil aviation authorities.

John Langley

Director and Founder / Principal

John has over 40 years of leadership experience in high tech communications, project management and UAV design, development and flight testing.

Prior to this John’s foundation is military.

In civilian life he pursued a project management career working for Paynter Dixon, the largest project management company in Australia developing skills in architecture, engineering, and quantity surveying where he successfully completed large project management developments, including high rise, commercial, and industrial developments.

John founded his first UAV company in 2006 integrating his skills to UAV technology development from when he was a Director in a Public Company involved in high tech communications. The UAV company was sold in 2008 to globally respected Malaysian company, Sapura Crest, after building some large UAV’s that have proven records of test flights.

After returning to the building industry for 5 years completing a large multi million dollar project and also running a historic military restoration company, John decided that he would take on the UAV project once again as there was more than sufficient proof of its place for future technology advancement.

John continued his interest in UAV designs and testing and later founded AITA and CITA (Canada) in 2018 to bring to fruition this further development work on a new, extreme range of UAV’s built to exceed in terms of both performance and cost, the best military spec drones in use but with the specific intention of being commercially available and affordable to a wide variety of commercial, utilities and emergency service users.

Andrew White

Managing Director

Andrew is an experienced director, manager, and civil engineer with over 35 years experience from grass roots to running companies and delivering multi-billion dollar engineering projects including oil & gas, energy, mining and infrastructure works.

He has operated at a senior level with globally recognized organizations in these sectors and in diverse geographical, business and political jurisdictions including Australia, South East Asia, Middle East, Africa and South America.

He brings a wealth of commercial, logistical and practical knowledge to ensure AITA’s extraordinary UAV designs, capabilities and services are delivered to meet the highest level of customer expectations wherever they are in the world.

Andrew’s goal is for AITA to be recognised as delivering extraordinary UAV capabilities that dramatically change the outcomes for customers, reducing the cost, time and risk of conducting their operations.

Mike Cantelo

Operations

Mike has worked in fire control with the Department of Parks and Wildlife in Western Australia for 38 years and has extensive experience in fire management.

He was awarded the Australian Fire Service Medal in 2015.

Mike has helped setup burning operations in Australia, South Africa, Chile and Brazil and sees fire control using UAV services as an important management tool to improve safety and reduce costs. He is keen to see it used strategically on a landscape scale for pastoral bushfire protection and pastoral management in bush fire prone areas around the world.

Walter Thomson

Engineering

With over 40 years of experience in aircraft engineering, Walter brings a wealth of experience to AITA. His expertise in aerodynamics and aircraft modification, design and repair adds tremendous value to our engineering and design team. Walter started his career in 1965 as an A.M.E. apprentice with Rex Aviation, Jandakot. Since then, he has held important design and engineer positions at various organisations.

In 1999, he founded Thomson Design, a CASR 21M aircraft design organisation also in Jandakot, WA. Thomson Design is behind over six thousand CASR 21M designs for aircraft modifications and repairs on GA aircraft up to regional jet size. They also manage flight testing of designs for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. His designs include structures, avionics, electrical, instrumentation and flight analysis (flight test engineering) disciplines. At AITA, Walter brings his unparalleled experience to lead the design team in creating world-class UAVs.
